Volodymyr Lytvyn calls for drafting a Proper Election Law
Volodymyr Lytvyn calls for drafting a proper election law. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine made the foregoing statement on Wednesday, meeting the graduates of the Program of Internship at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Central Executive Bodies.
V.Lytvyn stated, "A proper election system should be formed, so that democracy will work for people; to that end a dialogue between the authorities and the public is necessary."
The Head of the Parliament stressed that importance of the election law outweighs its practical goals, as it decides on the renewal of membership of the legislative body.
He called for establishing such an election system, when the parties serve the public, not the public fits into the parties´ interests.
